Last weekend, I met this lovely family at Doctor's Park. We ventured down to the beach for a sunrise photo session that, despite the chill in the air, turned out to be a be a spectacular slice of day. Dawn has become my new favorite time to shoot, especially on the lake. I have always loved how the light absolutely dances through my lens at sunset, but I have recently found that the lighting and the mood are perfectly serene at sunrise. My last three shoots at Doctor's Park have been at this time of day and the tranquil water, calm winds, and absence of bystanders have made it the absolute perfect time and place for a photo shoot.
On this particular morning, it was not only the ambience but the company that made this session so delightful. First, the darling little girls couldn't be any cuter or sweeter. Big sis, is a free spirit with a fantastic imagination and little sis, although a little more cautious, perhaps just due to her age, also reveled in the moments of exploration offered up by the beach. I really enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Matt and Stacey, as it turns out we have alot in common. Like me, Matt is a teacher and like my husband, an ultimate Packer fan (according to Stacey), so when I suggested to move the session from Sunday afternoon to Saturday morning to aim for sunrise, I think its safe to assume that this made everyone happy. I always love the opportunity to chat with fellow teachers and find a sense of camaraderie, which is now particularly instantaneous given the recent affairs in our state. Stacey is the kind of person that you meet and feel instantly at ease. She is gorgeous yet modest, with a warm smile and charming personality. It turns out that Stacey found me through a Google search of Milwaukee photographers (HOORAY!) but saw my blog and recognized an old friend from a previous post. Small World. They say the world is six degrees of separation but I swear Milwaukee is only two. Matt and Stacey, it was so lovely to meet you. I sure hope we can work together again someday. Enjoy all of your precious moments with your beautiful girls.
