Sunrise Session at the Beach {Milwaukee Family Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}

Last weekend, I met this lovely family at Doctor's Park. We ventured down to the beach for a sunrise photo session that, despite the chill in the air, turned out to be a be a spectacular slice of day. Dawn has become my new favorite time to shoot, especially on the lake. I have always loved how the light absolutely dances through my lens at sunset, but I have recently found that the lighting and the mood are perfectly serene at sunrise. My last three shoots at Doctor's Park have been at this time of day and the tranquil water, calm winds, and absence of bystanders have made it the absolute perfect time and place for a photo shoot.
On this particular morning, it was not only the ambience but the company that made this session so delightful. First, the darling little girls couldn't be any cuter or sweeter. Big sis, is a free spirit with a fantastic imagination and little sis, although a little more cautious, perhaps just due to her age, also reveled in the moments of exploration offered up by the beach. I really enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Matt and Stacey, as it turns out we have alot in common. Like me, Matt is a teacher and like my husband, an ultimate Packer fan (according to Stacey), so when I suggested to move the session from Sunday afternoon to Saturday morning to aim for sunrise, I think its safe to assume that this made everyone happy. I always love the opportunity to chat with fellow teachers and find a sense of camaraderie, which is now particularly instantaneous given the recent affairs in our state. Stacey is the kind of person that you meet and feel instantly at ease. She is gorgeous yet modest, with a warm smile and charming personality. It turns out that Stacey found me through a Google search of Milwaukee photographers (HOORAY!) but saw my blog and recognized an old friend from a previous post. Small World. They say the world is six degrees of separation but I swear Milwaukee is only two. Matt and Stacey, it was so lovely to meet you. I sure hope we can work together again someday. Enjoy all of your precious moments with your beautiful girls.

Engagement Photos in Cedarburg {Milwaukee Engagement Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}

A couple weeks ago I had another incredible session in downtown Cedarburg. I met this adorable couple there and after working with them for just a couple hours, felt like I had known them forever. Liz and Adam are seriosuly two of the NICEST, most down-to-earth people I have ever met. They are getting married next September in Door County, which is a very special place to them. Both of their families spend alot of time there and the way they describe it makes it sound absolutely magical. Can you believe I have never been? I know. Crazy! But it is definitely on my bucket list. To me these photos are the epitome of lifestyle photography... we were just blocks away from Liz and Adam's home and they told me that they walk up and down these very streets with their adorable dog, Tug, all the time. I think I captured them as they really are. Liz and Adam, what do you think?

Hey, Neighbor {Milwaukee Family Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}

I have been taking photos for these two adorable little guys and their parents since big brother was a baby. Its hard to believe he is almost six years old already! We met years ago, long before we had children, when my husband played softball with Kevin. Since then Kevin and Sara have become dear friends and most recently, neighbors! They live just around the corner from us now, which sure has come in handy for us--like when our snowblower died during the first huge snowfall of winter...and when I thought I lost my cell phone at the park and and had no way to call my husband since we don't have a home phone and had to go knocking on their door at 10 o'clock on a school night!
Next year, their youngest and my oldest will be starting school together. I can hardly believe it. Imagining them as buds growing up together and laughing together and playing sports together warms my heart. Kevin and Sara thanks for continuing to be my most loyal customers and dear friends. Oh...And thanks for always being there to rescue us from snowstorms and cell phone emergencies.
