Sometimes we find love in the strangest of places and sometimes we find it when we didn't even know we were looking for it...and its right there, staring us in the face. For Emily and Erik, who have known each other since they were kids, it was just that. They met when they were young at a family gathering and are not even sure exactly when they met. They've seen pictures that they are both in and don't even remember being in the same place at the same time. But one day, love came along and just knocked them off their feet. Their love story began when Emily said yes to going out with Erik one night. Then one night soon became another and another and most recently, Emily said yes to becoming his wife. Now Emily and Erik are planning a backyard wedding at his parent's home but for their engagement session we settled on a more urban locale, the Historic Third Ward. As we meandered up and down the streets and alleyways, the weather was perfect, the sunlight was magical and the story of their love unfolded before me.

Engagement Photos in Cedarburg {Milwaukee Engagement Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}
A couple weeks ago I had another incredible session in downtown Cedarburg. I met this adorable couple there and after working with them for just a couple hours, felt like I had known them forever. Liz and Adam are seriosuly two of the NICEST, most down-to-earth people I have ever met. They are getting married next September in Door County, which is a very special place to them. Both of their families spend alot of time there and the way they describe it makes it sound absolutely magical. Can you believe I have never been? I know. Crazy! But it is definitely on my bucket list. To me these photos are the epitome of lifestyle photography... we were just blocks away from Liz and Adam's home and they told me that they walk up and down these very streets with their adorable dog, Tug, all the time. I think I captured them as they really are. Liz and Adam, what do you think?

Lakefront Engagement Session {Milwaukee Engagement Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}
I met this adorable couple last April at Alterra on the lake on a crazy spring day when it was sleeting little balls of snow. Nothing like spring in Wisconsin! A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting them at Alterra once again and spending the evening at the lakefront to capture these moments in honor of their engagement. These two met at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (my alma mater!), fell in love, and moved to Milwaukee to start their lives together. They will say "I do" next summer at the Seven Seas in Hartland. Robin and Adam, I have really enjoyed getting to know you and I hope you love these photos!

Stunning Sara & Gorgeous Gordan {Milwaukee Engagement Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}
I finally finished editing the photos from Sara and Gordan's Engagement Session in the Third Ward and the Iron Horse Hotel. I HEART them! Not surprising that so many of them are beautiful because Sara and Gordan are both absolutely GORGEOUS! Sara had some FABULOUS oufits, hot shoes, and even a basketful of sassy headbands! She is seriously the most fashionable person I know....not to mention she is also probably the sweetest person I have ever met and the kindest, dearest friend. I am so grateful to have her in my life and absolutely honored that Sara and Gordan have chosen me as their wedding photographer for their destination wedding in St. Thomas at the end of this year....I CAN'T WAIT! Sara and Gordan, thanks for the laughs last week. I could just feel the love between you two during our shoot and it shows. Enjoy! XO
