Save it for a Rainy Day {Milwaukee & Chicago Family Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}

You might remember this gorgeous family from a few months back when I nicknamed the little guy the happiest baby on earth. This time around he is is 5 months older and still just as adorable and happy but perhaps just a tad more reserved with his smiles. Let's just say I had to work it a little for them this time. But sure enough, mom and dad helped out by bringing along and squeezing and waving one of his favorite "funnies," a water bottle, (who needs toys!) and eventually the pensive glances gave way to the darling grin that shows of his pearly whites and precious dimples.

Did I mention it was raining?? Lisa picked out the most beautiful location near Lincoln Park Conservatory and we had both been checking the weather until just hours before we met. The forecast was for cloudy skies and no rain until that evening. Well, so such luck. Throughout most of our session their was a light drizzle... but they were all such troopers! Particularly the little man, who had his first time out in the rain and his first time hanging out in the grass, and actually seemed to like it! Check out this family shot in the rain, where you can actually see it coming down. And they still look incredible! You guys are one GORGEOUS family. Enjoy your photos.

Lakefront Senior Photos {Milwaukee Senior Portrait Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}

A couple weeks ago I met Samantha at Lake Park to shoot her senior pictures. Sam is actually the cousin of my most recent subject for senior portraits, Tia, who you may remember from this blog post. Beautiful sure does run in the family, huh? Check this girl out! Sam, it was my pleasure to take these photos for you. Best wishes to you in your senior year and in the coming years as you journey on your mew career path. I hope you enjoy your photos.

Grandpa and Grandma LOVE {Milwaukee Family Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}

A quick post at yet again, Lake Park, one of my all time favorite places near the lake to shoot. I have a strong connection to this fam: Grandma is a friend and old co-worker of mine and her son and daughter-in-law also happen to be dear friends of ours. I even teach Spanish to one of the cutie pies in this pic. I love this shot of the kids with grandma and grandpa! How darn cute is the baby in that plaid hat?!

OH BOYS {Milwaukee Family Photographer, Milwaukee Event Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}

A few weeks ago I had the honor of co-hosting a baby shower for my dear friend, Heather, who is expecting twin boys later this year. Heather was in town from San Antonio for the weekend where she and her hubby, also a dear friend, are living for the year. Heather's beautiful mom, Diane, came in from Minnesota for the party and along with twenty other friends and family members, enjoyed a menu of "bite-sized" appetizers served in pairs, in honor of the twins.

Planning this party was seriously SO. MUCH. FUN. Made me wish I was a party planner. Maybe in another life? Hmmmm......HOWEVER, I would only do it if my amazing friend, Elaine Buckley (simple e designs) would be my business partner. She is an unbelievably talented artist and graphic designer. Actually, like me, she is a teacher by day and wife-mom-artist-and-now-perhaps-party-planner?? by night!

In terms of decor, nearly everything for this party was handmade. Elaine designed the gorgeous giraffe themed invitations, stationary and dessert picks and we planned the whole party around the theme "Oh Boys" with the image of the giraffes facing one another, sharing one heart. The inspiration for the original design was the blue giraffe that you see on the food table, which Elaine already had in her son's nursery. A simple color scheme of robin's egg blue, lime green, and brown with pops of orange created a festive backdrop for the already lovely and cozy setting. Colorful handmade baby blocks which Elaine created hung from the dining room chandelier. Custom onesies strung over the fireplace on a clothesline displayed the theme "OH BOYS" and were anchored by the twin giraffes, one on each end. I created the diaper cake and a handmade keepsake box which both repeated the giraffe theme as did the stationary on which guests lovingly wrote motherhood advice and wishes for the baby boys.

As party favors, guests were given tiny cellophane bags filled with twin giraffe cookies that shared one heart, to repeat the twin theme. Large floral centerpieces with vases wrapped in ribbon featured blossoming white and green hydrangea, and green spider mums. Tiny messages hovered over desserts. Polka dots dotted balloons, ribbons, cookies and the keepsake box.

Here is the only photo that I didn't take because for this one I was on the other side of the camera, posing with Heather and Elaine.

And here are three adorable shots of the guest of honor and the "rookie dad." :) Aren't they an adorable couple? And they couldn't be sweeter. Both of them. Seriously the kind of friends you feel SO blessed to have in your life.

Congratulations, Heather and Chris! I couldn't be happier for you two...and I can't wait to meet your precious baby boys!

Four of a Kind {Milwaukee Child Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}

I was so honored when my friend, Bridget, asked me to photograph her four beautiful children this summer. Check 'em out--they are GORGEOUS! I headed out to their house last week for some last minute relaxation poolside before school started. Later, when the sun was going down the kids got all dressed up for their individual photo moments in the backyard. I love how soft and natural these look...they were all just hangin' in their backyard. And when the sun went behind the trees, the lighting was absolutely magical. The boys together with the sun behind their backs just melts my heart...and the girls were gorgeous in every shot! Bridget, I hope you love these. Your children are BEAUTIFUL. XO

Lake Park Senior Photos {Milwaukee Senior Portrait Photographer - Erin Harris Photography}

Its hard for me to believe this gorgeous girl is a senior in high school already! I have known her since she was a sweet little eight year-old girl and now she is just as sweet as ever, but all grown up! You are beautiful, Tia, inside and out, and I am so honored to have taken these photos for you. I hope you like them! XO

Family Fun at the Beach | Lake Park | Milwaukee Family Photographer | Erin Harris Photography}

I spent another lovely evening at the beach at Doctor's Park with this adorable family. The kids were so adventurous and free-spirited, enjoying the sand, the wind and the water....I had such fun capturing their playfulness! Charity, I hope you enjoy these photos. Looking forward to seeing you guys at school in less than a week!
